Actions were held in Montenegro in support of Russia in connection with the situation around Ukraine. Peaceful pickets were held in the country’s capital, Podgorica, and in the seaside town of Bar. This was reported on March 2 by the portal In4s.
People took to the rallies with Russian and Serbian flags. Also, some activists carried banners with the inscription “Pray to God, stick to Russia.” Bikers also took part in the action. According to the journalists, the audience lit flares, and people chanted: “Russia, Russia.”
On February 26, a motor rally was held in the Serbian capital of Belgrade in support of the Russian military operation to protect civilians in the Donbass. Cars drove through the central streets of the city. After that, the convoy stopped at the Russian Embassy in Belgrade. The participants got out of the cars and waved the flags of Russia, Serbia, Belarus and the DPR, LPR, as well as a banner with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the Donbass, where the situation has seriously deteriorated since February 17 due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics turned to the Russian Federation for help, began evacuating civilians to Russian territory and asked for recognition of their independence.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the sovereignty of the DNR and LNR, as well as treaties of friendship and cooperation.
Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been conducting a military operation against the inhabitants of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état and the new government in Ukraine.
