An former Junts collaborator has denounced Toni Comín against Eurocamara for sexual and psychological harassment. As La Vanguardia has advancedthe former advisor of the independence politician recounts touch, insinuations and sexual propositions, in addition to job harassment, Broncas for no reason and threats of dismissal.
The Eurodiput has responded to the publication denying “no act of harassment” to the collaborator. In a statement, he says that he will adopt the “necessary actions” to demonstrate his honorability and innocence as well as “correction” in his behavior. “We will have to assess to what extent this complaint against me can be a crime of hate for homophobia,” he adds. And points out the “temporary coincidence” of the “false complaint” with its candidacy to preside over the Council of the Republic.
“Some of the facts referred to by the news refer, completely misrepresented, to more or less timely jokes and comments, within the framework of a relationship of trust and friendship built during the mandate,” says Comín. The former advisor has filed the complaint at the European Parliament Advisory Committee.
Junts, on the other hand, has assured that the party’s guarantees commission “is deciding which should be the precautionary measures” by the denunci. In a statement, the political formation informs that it launched the “internal investigation mechanisms” when they had news of the complaint and that “the measures that correspond” will be taken when the investigation ends. Junts points out that the internal process “must ensure both the protection of the complainant and Comín’s presumption of innocence.” And they trust that “the facts are clarified.”
