A court in the Stavropol region arrested employees of Rostransnadzor and traffic police inspectors for bribes. This was reported on April 17 TASS in the press service of the Stavropol Regional Court.
“A petition was considered against four suspects, and a preventive measure was chosen for them in the form of detention,” he said.
In relation to two more defendants, the consideration was postponed for 72 hours.
The case includes Rostransnadzor employees Murad Makiev, Alexander Khamatov and Oleg Kibirov, traffic police inspectors Mukhamed Khanikov and Musa Kanukoev, civilians Yuri Alborov, Levan Makiev and Khasbi Khachetlov.
Their actions were recorded by employees of the FSB of Russia and the Main Directorate of the Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, Makiev, as head of the territorial department of state road supervision in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, created and headed a criminal group, which included his subordinates Khamatov and Kibirov, traffic police inspectors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other persons.
They received bribes from truck drivers passing through the Urukh control post. Thus, they were able to receive 1 thousand rubles per vehicle and 2 thousand rubles if the vehicle had a trailer. For money, cars passed the corresponding checkpoint without checks.
Earlier, on April 15, a source from Izvestia reported that the property of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Bryansk, Yuri Sokolov, was seized for 50 million rubles. The man was accused of extortion and taking a bribe. The former law enforcement officer actually owns a house in Bryansk worth more than 45 million rubles, as well as Lexus and Toyota cars with “nice license plates” worth about 7.5 million rubles.
