Investigators of Kalmykia opened a criminal case on the fact of an accident with a passenger bus in the Yashkul region. About it reported on the website of the republican department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).
The case was initiated on the basis of a crime provided for in part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence”). At the scene, an investigative and operational police team and emergency workers are working, the head of the Yashkul region has arrived.
According to the investigation, the Neoplan passenger bus en route from Makhachkala to St. Petersburg collided with KamAZ on the night of October 24 at the 246th kilometer of the R-216 Astrakhan – Elista – Stavropol highway. There were 28 passengers on the bus. The Minister of Health of Kalmykia, Yuri Kikenov, said that as a result of the accident, six people died and eight were injured.
