Latam will provide 12 weekly trips from São Paulo (SP) to the terminal; From June 1st, Gol and Azul will offer new options
The Canoas Air Base, in Rio Grande do Sul, received the 1st commercial flight this Monday (May 27, 2024), at around 8am. The space is being used as a substitute for the Salgado Filho International Airport, in Porto Alegre, compromised by the floods in the State.
The plane, which belongs to Latam Airlinesdeparted Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo (SP), at 6:30 am.
There will be 12 weekly Latam flights departing from Guarulhos and Congonhas airports, in São Paulo. A Goal will add 9 more flights from June 1st, all departing from Guarulhos. A Azul Linhas Aéreasin turn, will have 28 weekly flights to the terminal from June 1st, departing from Viracopos airport, in Campinas (SP).
Therefore, there will be more than 130 flights to access Rio Grande do Sul.
Boarding and disembarking will take place at the ParkShopping Canoas Terminal. The terminal has a space for check-in, baggage drop-off and boarding of travelers, as well as X-ray equipment and metal detectors.
The space is under the administration of Fraport, responsible for Porto Alegre airport.
