Anticipation is growing for the 6 Hours of Imola, the second round of the FIA WEC, scheduled this weekend at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari.
An event of great prestige, which effectively opens the racing season of the circuit and which competes in Imola in its modern version for the first time, while at the same time celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first endurance race, the 1000 km of Imola in 1974.
An exciting and spectacular event on the track, which will see almost 40 cars competing, divided into the two categories Hypercar and LMGT3, representing 14 brands of the most important car manufacturers.
The Italian industry is represented by Ferrari, in its second season in the Hypercar, which will compete in Imola with the aim of fighting for victory; and the new entries Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini, with a view to finding ever greater competitiveness in a very balanced championship with an outcome that is never predictable.
Before the sporting battle on the 4,909 meters of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari track, an event not to be missed for all fans on Thursday 18 April.
From 4.45 pm, in the central Piazza Matteotti in Imola, all the protagonists of this second round of the FIA WEC will be presented.
Riders of the caliber of Antonio Giovinazzi, Antonio Fuoco, Mirko Bortolotti, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Edordo Mortara, Valentino Rossi, in his first season in the WEC, will parade on stage.
Without forgetting former Formula 1 players Robert Kubica, Nick De Vries, Mick Schumacher, Daniil Kvyat, Sebastien Buemi, Paul Di Resta and Kamui Kobayashi. On this occasion they will be available to sign posters and autographs.
The 6 Hours of Imola will be a spectacle for all enthusiasts and also for families. In fact, from Friday to Sunday a fan zone will be operational where you will be spoiled for choice for the planned activities.
A Ferris wheel will allow you to see the track from above, the simulators, the stands of car manufacturers, the stage with DJs and bands and the big screen to follow the race, an exhibition of Ferrari cars, the possibility for children to drive electric minibikes and miniquads and of course food & beverage stands are what you will find in the Fan Zone area.
Of note is the stand of the Guardia di Finanza, which this year celebrates the 250th anniversary of the institution of the Corps, where there will be a helicopter flight simulator that is absolutely worth trying.
