Laureus Italia Foundation and Napoli Basket, the basket in the Community Sports Center of the Objective Napoli Association
In the Socio-Educational-Sports Presidium of the Objective Napoli Associationin the heart of the Mercato district of the Neapolitan capital, Laureus Sport For Good Italia Foundation And Naples Basketball they inaugurated a new basket which becomes the symbol of the synergy between these two entities involved in an area at high risk of social exclusion.
The initiative was divided into two successive moments. First the institutional press conference in which they took part Daria BragaDirector of the Laureus Italia Foundation, Federico GrassiPresident of Napoli Basket, together with Giovanni De Nicolao And Tariq Amir Owensplayers of the Neapolitan Club, ed Enrico Crasta, General Manager of Crasta. He was present to do the honors Antonio BonfittoDirector of the Objective Napoli Association, who underlined the importance of this virtuous circle which manages to unite different partners to support an educational experience full of activities and initiatives, fundamental for the growth of young people.
Then, the kids from the center took to the pitch to play with their idols, who they usually admire from the sidelines during Lega Basket Serie A matches, sharing a fun and educational experience with them. For about a year, in fact, a group of boys from Objective Napoli have been guests of the Neapolitan team during home matches and have been attending the matches with great passion. In addition to sporting activity, it is no coincidence that complementary educational paths are important in the maturation process, in this case to develop a healthy relationship with cheering.
In this regard, Daria Braga, the Director of the Laureus Italia Foundation, stated: “Basketball wants to be proposed as a healthy model of cohesion and growth for the kids of the center who will be able, thanks to the basket that the Laureus Foundation inaugurated together with Napoli Basket, to become actively passionate about this sport after discovering it as fans”.
Federico Grassi, President of Napoli Basket, also added: “As happened last season, together with my members and our entire Club we strongly wanted to support the initiative and the project Basketball For Good in collaboration with Objective Napoli, which on this occasion coincided with the donation of a basket to allow the kids to have fun and play inside this beautiful center. We are happy that our Social Event Partner Crasta, company of the entrepreneur and our sponsor Enrico Crasta, was close to us and supported this important project. Our society is very sensitive to social initiatives. I would like to thank the sports institutions that are always close to us in all activities and these projects, in particular the President of the LBA Umberto Gandini and the President of the FIP of the Campania Region. The hope is that this type of initiative will be repeated often over time to bring sport ever closer to society.”
Finally, Enrico Francesco Crasta, General Manager of Crasta, stated: “We believe in example as the perfect form of teaching: it is necessary that boys and girls coming from complex realities know that there are spaces of possibility in which they can grow and compare. This is the main reason that pushes us to support the work carried out by Objective Napoli: with the Basket For Good project, in collaboration with the Laureus Italia Foundation and Napoli Basket, we donated baskets and balls to the young guests of the Center to make our concrete contribution to the training activities carried out by the Association through sport as a tool for redemption and social integration.”
The Objective Naples Association is one of the five entities that joins the “CSC-Community Sports Centers” project of the cities of Rome, Naples and Palermo – co-financed by the Laureus Foundation, Social Enterprise with Children and Play for Change – aimed at enhancing the practice of sport as a tool for education and inclusion in neighborhoods where social hardship, early school leaving and economic deprivation make the future of young people uncertain. The objective is to support them in everyday life, reduce educational poverty and support their human and physical growth, enhancing cultural diversity and promoting inclusion towards the world of disability and women's sport. Among the proposals of the Community Centres, for example, there are football, artistic gymnastics, basketball, dance and karate, as well as scholastic support activities and more experimental initiatives such as the synergy between the Laureus Foundation and Napoli Basket, which aims to accompany the growth of young people through moments of education and sharing.
