Jaari already traveled to Los Angeles a week ago. He says that the film received a lot of positive attention during the trip.
“They really liked it! The viewers are quite critical here,” he says, referring to Los Angeles as the center of the film industry.
Dead leaves -the film's possible Oscar nomination will be determined on January 23.
“We are looking forward to the coming weeks to see how this will actually turn out.”
Golden Globe Jaari describes the gala as a “wonderful experience”.
“People whose work you've seen for decades walk by. It makes you think that yes, they are just like me. Three-dimensional and they might have wrinkles in the corner of their eyes,” he says.
Dead leaves Aki Kaurismäki, who directed and wrote the script, was not present at the award gala. He had already announced this in advance.
Jaari says that he spoke with Kaurismäki on the phone recently.
“Kaurismäki said to be nice and have fun.”
At the gala received the award for best non-English language film Anatomy of a Fall or Anatomie d'une chute.
The award was given for the best female lead in the category of musical or comedy films Emma Stone for his role in the film Poor Things.
