Paris – The riots in France never end. On Friday night (June 30), 249 police officers were injured, according to the broadcaster BFMTV citing Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin reported in the morning. However, there were no serious injuries among the injured officers.

According to the Interior Ministry, a total of 667 people were arrested as a result of the riots in France – the majority in the greater Paris area. As the riots continue in immediate response to the 17-year-old’s death, President Emmanuel Macron has already called an emergency meeting. The Élysée Palace announced that the interministerial crisis team should meet on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

The national police spoke of new incidents in Marseille, Lyon, Pau, Toulouse and Lille, and there was also talk of night-time riots in Strasbourg.
The first riots had already occurred on Thursday afternoon (June 29) on the sidelines of a funeral march for the killed youth. Several hundred young people marched through the city and rubbish containers were set on fire. Objects were lit, but firecrackers were also set off in some neighborhoods of Strasbourg.
