Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni
French elections, Angelo Bonelli (Green Europe) – Nicola Fratoianni (Italian Left): “Mélenchon? We are working on a government proposal. Social and environmental justice at the center”
The result brought home by Jean-Luc Mélenchon in France, leading a broad coalition (Nupes-Nouvelle Union Populaire Ecologique et Social), from ecologists to socialists, also questions Italy, where instead an alliance primarily between the left and the Greens has never managed to break through. How come? What can the leader of La France Inosmise count on, which the Italian left lacks?
To immediately get their hands on with Affaritaliani.it is Angelo Bonelli, co-spokesperson for Green Europe together with Eleonora Evi. Asked by our newspaper, in fact, Bonelli first of all emphasizes a fact: “This success is not only of the left”, as already emerges from the name of the coalition which “is called Nouvelle Union Populaire Ecologique et Social and, in fact, it does not include the word ‘left’ “.
After that, the exponent of Green Europe has no doubts: “Given that France has historical, cultural and social characteristics different from ours, the important thing to do in Italy is to find points of convergence. Building a big green and progressive, civic and social alliance could represent a real political novelty. All the more so in the face of attempts to make up a center that seems more the center of lobbies and of leaders of personalist parties who represent the interests of conservation. While there is a great need in Italy for the battles of social and environmental justice to be represented ”.
He thinks so too Nicola Fratoianni, secretary of the Italian Left. And, not surprisingly, he confirms to Affari: “What is needed today is a proposal that focuses on the relationship, for me inseparable, between social and environmental justice. And on this we are working with green Europe to build a path of convergence “.
