During 2024 there may be a coming new game developed from a group study Zenimax / Bethesda, currently owned by Microsoft. This was suggested by the Product Marketing Manager of the German division of ZeniMax, Marcel Hatam, who in his ranking of the most anticipated games of the year, published on LinkedIn, added a “TBA game” in fourth position, immediately below the already announced Dragon Age Dreadwolf, Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Codename Red.
TBA is the acronym for “To be announced”, i.e. “to be announced”, for those who don't know.
What could it be?
Naturally Hatam did not provide any details to understand which game it could be, but it is not inappropriate to make some hypotheses.
The first that comes to mind is Zenimax's new MMO, which has been in the works for a while, and we know nothing about it except that it exists. Another hypothesis could be the new game from id Software. Considering that DOOM Eternal came out in 2020 and that the studio has at least two internal teams, 2024 could be the right year to know something about its current projects. The third hypothesis is the new game from Machine Games, a studio that hasn't launched anything for years. We know that they are working on the Indiana Jones game, but other ongoing projects have also been rumored several times.
In short, the hypotheses are different. We'd tend to rule out a new game from Bethesda themselves, considering they just released Starfield and are very busy with support (despite having a second team working on something else, there are rumors of a new Fallout). We would also exclude from the pile Arkane, which just published Redfall, and Tango Gameworks, which launched Ghostwire: Tokyo in 2022 and Hi-Fi Rush in 2023.
