The student: “It’s thanks to her that I’m still standing”
“If there is one person I have to thank for still standing it is my partner, it is the person who has always surprised me with his infinite love, support and encouragement”. These are the first words of Patrick Zaki, the Egyptian student of the University of Bologna released from prison after 22 months of imprisonment pending the next hearing, shared in Arabic through his account opened yesterday on Facebook and reported as official by the network of activists “Patrick Libero “.
Yesterday for the first tweet he had also chosen Italian: “Libertà, liberty, liberty” above a photo in which the student was showing a Bologna football bracelet. Today a public post on Facebook with a photo of him with the girl. “My partner has transformed her whole life to help me psychologically and to make me all the visits – concluded Zaki – even knowing that she could not enter”.
On Twitter, the researcher returned again today with a message, dedicated to the Italians, thanking them for having supported him in these two years. One more thought to “my city Bologna”, with red and blue hearts, and then to the re-savored freedom, always waiting for the next hearing on February 1st. “Morning of freedom”, closes the post.
