An unabatedly popular entry-level class for ten years, the Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart will also be the best start to your racing career in 2022. Yamaha’s lightest Supersport lends itself like no other to improving your racing skills and as part of the bLU cRU racing family you can count on intensive guidance on and off the track. This way you will be optimally prepared to progress to the R3 Cup and the brand new R7 Cup!
The Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart is already entering its eleventh season and is still very popular. The latest model of the Yamaha YZF-R125 is being raced, a lightweight Supersport clearly inspired by the YZF-R1 and perfectly at home on the short circuits where the Cup comes into play. That the class is not only an ideal stepping stone for young inexperienced riders, but also offers an excellent flow for drivers who have already gained experience with minibikes or smaller motorcycles has been proven over the years. But what is good can always be better, and in 2022 drivers can benefit from even more intensive guidance on the track and the benefits offered by new partners KicXstart, Damen Motorkleding, Füsport and Bridgestone.
The drivers can now count on even more intensive guidance. Bob Withag, former high-level motorcycle racer and highly experienced test driver for KicXstart, will coordinate the R125 Cup and coach the riders as in previous years. In addition, Leon Bovee, also a successful racing driver with Yamaha in the past and active as a trainer in road racing for years, has been recruited as a supervisor and coach for the bLU cRU Racing trajectory. In addition to the intensive coaching and guidance of Bob Withag and Leon Bovee, former Yamaha R125 driver Koen Ligtenberg will be ready to support.
As always, the Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart is actively supported by Yamaha Benelux. This allows the Yamaha YZF-R125 to be offered at a very competitive price. The R125 Cup road racing kit is available at a small additional cost and includes fairing in the Cup colours, steel brake lines, a set of racing tires, front brake lever guard bar, kill switch, racing exhaust system, special air filter and an environmental mat.
The Yamaha R125 Cup powered by KicXstart is part of the KNMV NK Junior Moto Racing and consists of spring training and seven competitions on different, challenging circuits in the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition to fighting for the championship title, there is a special Rookie ranking for newcomers. For the winner of the overall classification, Yamaha Benelux will provide a race-ready Yamaha R3 to compete in the Yamaha R3 Cup for a season.
The race reports and all interim news updates can be followed via KicXstart, on motorsport site Racesport.nl and of course via the website of the Yamaha KicXstart R125 Cup. Here you will also find all other information about the competition and the Yamaha YZF-R125 with road racing kit.
