The Play-Ins phase of League of Legends was held in Artz Pedregal in CDMX. TierraGamer covered the event firsthand; we had the opportunity to interview Brance —Diego Amaral— the ADC of LOUD —the acclaimed Brazilian esports team— at Worlds 2022.
After the games against Detonation Focus Me -the Japanese team-, LOUD lost the Play-Ins. However, it should be mentioned that as one of the “minor league” teams that made it this far, we all had high hopes for them.
The end of the “best of five” mode was frustrating for everyone. The most distressing thing was that the level change in the gameplay was very evident. Although, for that very reason, the presence of players from smaller servers is more appreciated.
With special love for the team, we asked some nice questions after the final game that closed their path. Brance, the ADC of LOUD in this Worlds 2022 answered the form that we show below:
1. In the Play-Ins we met two facets of LOUD, in the first game they tried to be careful, although we all know that their style is much more aggressive. Why did you decide that this was the best way to start?
Actually LOUD has different playstyles, I don’t think this style is the most characteristic. However, in hindsight, especially with this competition and matchups, we decided to switch from the first way to the second in view of the opponents.
2.Everyone says that LOUD plays with unexpected tactics. How would you describe his style of play?
Well, at the end of the day, we try to play as much as we can creatively: fighting a lot. We try to have a lot of clashes.
But, what happened with the last few games is that we made the wrong decisions, now that I think back on it we had to back down on a few occasions; and basically it is that, we try to be creative, we try to create opportunities for ourselves as a team. We always trust each other and our abilities, so we make decisions as a team.
3.As an esports player from Brazil who has met and lived with players from other countries. What are the differences you find?
Like everything, it must be seen from something broader. I don’t just mean in or out of the game. The level is very different compared to other teams we face in Brazil. But, still, this is my first experience to see different styles of play, and to meet different players. I really enjoyed it and I’m very grateful for what it was.
4.How would you describe your experience in the Play-Ins?
Despite everything, it was a very good experience. Of course it’s the first time I experience this, it’s a big mix of feelings. There were good moments, also some sad ones, however, despite all this, it was a very good experience and I try to enjoy it as much as I can.
We recommend: Worlds 2022 expanded the Play-Ins experience in CDMX and it was worth it
This is how Brance from LOUD said goodbye to Worlds 2022 in CDMX. However, LOUD was a team with remarkable dynamics, so we hope to see them again in future high-level championships.
