Program & ResultsDanny Noppert is the second Dutchman to secure a place in the second round of the World Grand Prix. The Frisian darts player was 2-0 too strong for Gabriel Clemens
Michael van Gerwen qualified for the second round of the World Grand Prix last night, where Dirk van Duijvenbode went down in frustration against Jonny Clayton.
So Noppert was the third Dutchman to reach the oche. After his place in the semifinals at the Belgian Darts Open, in which he received a nine-darter from the eventual winner Dave Chisnall, he met the German Gabriel in Leicester. After a 3-0 win in the first set, it became 3-2 in the second and that’s how the victory was won.
During the World Grand Prix, players must not only end the leg by throwing a double, but also start the leg by throwing a double.
