The track is almost ready in Vermiglio: on Sunday the races return to Italy after five years with the great challenge between Van Aert and Pidcock
The cyclocross World Cup is about to return to Italy after a five-year absence. At 1,261 meters in Vermiglio, in Val di Sole, on Saturday 11th (with practice) and Sunday 12th (with Elite men and Elite women) Italy will have the spotlight on. It will be run for the first time on the snow and in these days the organizers are completing the track, which will be unknown for everyone. It is no mystery that cyclocross aspires to enter the program of the Winter Olympics but to do so, in fact, it is essential that the discipline takes place on snow or ice. This is why Val di Sole innovation can have a profound impact on the five-circle project. The most anticipated will be the Belgian Wout van Aert and the British Tom Pidcock, who alternate on-road and off-road activities. The program of the World Cup in Val di Sole will start on Saturday 11 December with free practice, from 14 to 16, in view of the races on Sunday 12, anticipated by another free practice session (11.30-13.20). The Elite Women race will start at 1.30pm, followed by the Elite Men race at 2.55pm. Tickets are on sale at www.valdisolebikeland.com. To enter the event it is necessary to show the “reinforced” Green Pass (Super Green Pass), obtained exclusively by vaccination or cured from COVID-19 in the previous six months.
