One of the most recurrent criticisms of President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) and his supporters was against the Rouanet Law, which they accused of enriching artists aligned with leftist ideology in PT governments.

After three years in government, the person responsible for the laws of cultural incentives in the country is called Andre Porciuncula. He is a PM captain and an ardent Christian.
The National Secretary for Cultural Incentives and Promotion is proud of having “dried up” the source of the country’s main cultural incentive mechanism. He even posted a photo on his Twitter in which he holds a faucet that only comes out a drop of water that reads “Rouanet”.
Despite the speech, information from the government itself indicates that the total amount raised with the law in 2020 was R$ 1.4 billion, practically the same as the previous year.
On the networks, Porciuncula’s speech is identical to that of any other supporter of the president. The captain accused actor and director Wagner Moura of making “a film glorifying a terrorist criminal”, referring to Carlos Marighella. He tends to intersperse the attacks on the left with excerpts from the bible.
In a recent interview with TV Brasil, the secretary responded to a letter from the Association of Theater Producers of Rio (ATPR) that criticized the work of the ministry and confirmed that both the Special Secretary of Culture Mario Frias and he do “cultural dirigismo”.
“When they accuse me and the special secretary of doing this, it’s even funny, they’re accusing you of being a government. That’s exactly what we’re doing,” he said.
