CarGuy Racing has officially submitted to the Automobile Club de l’Ouest the application to register for the 2022 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The Japanese team, which collaborated with Kessel Racing in 2021, would like to appear under its name in the LMGTE Am Class next year alongside the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo it will field.
“We immediately moved to submit the registration application, given that it could be done from 1 December – says owner and driver Takeshi Kimura – We know very well that there are obstacles to overcome because there will be so many questions”.
“Speaking with Kessel Racing, they told us that it will be very complicated for new teams to be brought in, but if we have the opportunity, then we want to participate with a Japanese rider.”
“We always want more of them to play an active role in GT racing with our team, in order to have an established name they recognize around the world.”

Kimura also said she was awaiting a response to understand how to move with her collaborators.
“The idea is to have an experienced Japanese driver and a young driver to grow. Our partners would also like such a crew and I am lobbying precisely for our application to be accepted.”
“At the moment, however, I don’t know what situation we are in. I would say 50-50. But I am working with extreme determination to ensure that everything goes through.”
