Mexico City.- For President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum, the self-proclaimed Fourth Transformation is like a brotherhood.
Participating in the inauguration of the Fourth Section of Chapultepec Park, the Morena member spoke about the emotionality with which she has experienced the transition tour, in which she has traveled through the 32 states of the country, together with López Obrador.
According to the future president, the exchange of affection between citizens and the president can only be described as the construction of a brotherhood. “It is something inexplicable. I was telling the president that this is very emotional and he told me: it is a brotherhood, we have built a great brotherhood. I can tell you that we are a brotherhood, a brotherhood that is being built and that has been built throughout these years of struggle and that will continue to be built with the second floor of the fourth transformation,” she said.
During his speech, the head of the Executive confirmed what the Morena member had said by assuring that, together, they have managed to lay the foundations for a transformation, which Sheinbaum will continue.
“Just what our president said, it is an emotion, a joy, to be here gathered with all of you and that, in effect, we are part of a brotherhood. There are friends here, dear friends, I do not want to leave anyone out, so everyone should embrace me,” he said. “But the truth is, there are friends here, very dear friends who have been participating, fighting, for a long time, to achieve the transformation of our country. And we have managed, together, from below, to carry out this first stage of the transformation, the foundations of the transformation have been laid, and it is also very satisfying that the continuity with change will be in the hands of an exceptional woman.” In front of his Cabinet and invited artists, the politician from Tabasco celebrated the conditions in which the presidential succession has taken place and even attributed it to God. “Our country was fortunate that this change of government took place in the best, unbeatable conditions, because, imagine, if after having started this process, knock on wood, the situation would be different. I’m going to say it, God exists!” he exclaimed. “We are very happy about that, because we are going to hand over the presidential sash to someone who is very sensitive and will continue what has been started.” López Obrador again praised Sheinbaum, whom he referred to as an intelligent, prepared, experienced, sensitive, honest woman, with good feelings, and a good heart. “That is Claudia, the next president,” he said.
