The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab reported this Friday on the ratification of the arrest warrant against the board of directors of the Monómeros company, based in Colombia and that was appointed by the interim government of Juan Guaidó.

After the triumph of Gustavo Petro, expectations about the future of the company have grown, since the intervention of Supersociedades ceased and the proposal for a board of directors presented by the government of Nicolás Maduro was accepted.
On its Twitter account, Saab indicated that on February 28, 2020, 23 arrest warrants and red alerts were issued, which have been ratified on August 12 of this year. “against false members of the Board of Directors of the Monomers Company,” he wrote.
The Venezuelan prosecutor explained that the crimes to be charged are usurpation of functions, money laundering and association to commit a crime.
“This investigation promoted by the Public Ministry remains active, identifying other participants in the transnational criminal plot,” he published in his account.

Until now, Juan Guaidó has avoided commenting on the matter. In the last public intervention he assured that they were against the acts of corruption in the company. However, there have been several criticisms from opponents of Guaidó, who did not make the decision to dismiss the board of directors.
On the other hand, Armando Benedetti, ambassador to Venezuela, appointed by Gustavo Petro, reiterated that the sanction against Monómeros was lifted.

“We have also worked to find the good success of things, because we have to change the board based on the fact that the national government has already recognized the Venezuelan. He is at the forefront of the task of returning Monómeros to whom it really belongs,” he said. in front of Venezuelan businessmen in a meeting in the city of Cúcuta.
