Researchers from the Hydraulic, Maritime and Environmental Engineering group of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena coordinate the European project ‘Bim4energy’, an initiative with which they will teach technicians from institutions in Romania, Lithuania, Norway and Spain how to save energy in buildings. To do this, they will use the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology.
Among the resources that will be made available to technicians, the development of educational materials on the energy efficiency of buildings stands out; as well as the launch of a web application based on BIM and GIS technologies. With this, it will be possible to offer solutions for the energy rehabilitation of properties. This research is funded through the European Union’s Erasmus+ program with 250,000 euros.
The project, which will run until August 2025, will provide consumers of these training materials with the knowledge and tools necessary to play a role in the transition towards a more efficient European housing stock, reducing energy bills.
‘BIM4Energy’ received an evaluation by SEPIE, National Agency of the Erasmus Plus Program, which places it among the top 10 of the 27 projects selected from more than a hundred applications submitted in its category.
