Yaroslav Vasinsky, a citizen of Ukraine accused of cybercrime, appeared before a court in Texas, reports RIA News with reference to the statement of the US Department of Justice.
The hacker was extradited to the United States from Poland. He is charged with 11 counts of extortion, fraud and intentional damage to computers as part of the REvil group.

Representatives of the department said that the defendant belonged to the REvil group, which participated in network attacks on businesses and government agencies in the United States.
Together with the hacker, his colleague Yevgeny Polyanin was taken into custody, but then his colleague Yevgeny Polyanin was released – 6.1 million dollars were confiscated from the latter. Both suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit fraud. Vasinsky is going to be extradited to the United States, he faces up to 115 years in prison.
