On the night of February 24, Ukraine completely disconnected from the power systems of Russia and Belarus and operates offline. About it informs Ukrenergo company.
Now the country does not export or receive electricity from abroad. It is explained that until February 26, the power system will operate in an isolated mode in order to test it for future connection to the European Network of Electricity Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) in a single regulatory block with the power system of Moldova.
Ukrenergo noted that working in an isolated mode is not a stress test. The purpose of the test is to “demonstrate the ability of the power system to maintain the required frequency of 50 Hz in different modes of operation.”
Earlier, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko said that Kiev is in the final stages of implementing a plan to disconnect the country from the Russian and Belarusian energy systems and integrate into the European one. The process is scheduled to be completed in 2023, according to the official.
