The National Bank of Ukraine appealed to the Central Bank of other states with a request not to service Mir cards
The National Bank of Ukraine appealed to the central banks of the states that accept cards of the Russian payment system “Mir” with a request not to service them. About this regulator declared on its official website.
At the moment, Mir cards are accepted in Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Ukraine sent appeals to all these countries. Belarus, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, where they also conduct transactions with the Russian payment system, were not mentioned in the statement.
The requirements of Ukraine include the refusal to service Mir cards in ATMs and POS-terminals and from their use in the field of e-commerce and in p2p transfers (transfers between individuals). “The National Bank seeks to maximize the use of all possible options for sanctions against the Russian financial sector,” said the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Kyrylo Shevchenko.

In March, the two largest international payment systems Visa and Mastercard announced the suspension of work in Russia. Since March 10, the cards of these systems, issued in Russia, cannot be used abroad, however, they will continue to function on the territory of the country until the expiration date.
