During the tourist season for the current year, Tunisia recorded the visit of more than 4 million tourists, achieving an increase in the number of incoming tourists by 16 percent compared to their number last year, according to statements by the Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Moez Belhossein, in a press conference, in which he confirmed that the sector has begun to recover in terms of the number of arrivals. And hotel reservations, as well as development in the level of investment intentions, amounting to 495 million Tunisian dinars, in addition to launching the creation of new tourist stations and units in the governorates of Tozeur, Bizerte, Beja and Kasserine.
In this context, the official in charge of the tourism sector in the coastal governorate of Sousse, Tawfiq Al-Qayed, said in statements to Sky News Arabia, that investing in family hosts and tourism revitalization centers and creating major events that attract tourists contributed to the success of the season and its sustainability outside the summer.

Al-Mahawashi explained in his interview with the site that the French tourists, then the Algerians and the Libyans occupied the first ranks in the number of arrivals to the island, while the season witnessed a strong return to most of the traditional markets, including Germany and Belgium.
He added that the tourist movement is still active on the island during the months of September, October and November, as indicated by the reservations, especially as the island of Djerba is preparing to host the global Francophone summit next November.
Tunisia has been working in recent years to take advantage of its geographical diversity to provide diverse tourism services and not be satisfied with coastal tourism, which for years remained the only destination attractive to foreigners, by investing in eco-tourism, green areas tourism, adventure tourism and camping, as well as seawater health tourism and desert tourism.
