EN IN 2018
In 2018, the former Minister of Education Fernando Haddad contested the elections after the former president’s candidacy record Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was rejected due to the Clean Record Law. Haddad was Lula’s deputy and, in September of that year, took over as head of the ticket after the TSE’s decision.
In April 2021, Lula regained eligibility by decision of the STF (Federal Supreme Court), which annulled the convictions imposed by the Federal Court of Curitiba in 4 cases of the operation Car wash.
