The quake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the province of Tiraque in Bolivia.

In the early morning of Tuesday, March 7, at approximately 5:01 am, an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in Cochabamba, Bolivia, according to the San Calixto Observatory.

Municipalities such as Cochamba, Colcapirhua and Sacaba were the ones that alerted about the earthquake. The Observatory assured that the telluric movement had its epicenter in the province of Tiraque, with a hypocentral depth of 15.0 kilometers (intermediate earthquake).

Cochabamba is a highly seismic area, since in just this quarter it has
registered 88 telluric movements. However, the country in general has presented 148 earthquakes, Potosí being the department with the most movement with 104 records.
