Rene Hofer was in the mountains with his friends when an avalanche surprised and overwhelmed them. Besides him, two other victims
Absolute drama in the world of motorcycling. Rene Hofer, a promising young man in the world of motocross, died last Saturday at the age of only 19. He, along with 7 other friends, was doing an off-piste skiing, when an avalanche broke off the mountain and overwhelmed the whole group. Three victims, including the young promise of the MX2 world championship.
Only 19 years old, a glorious life and career ahead. All broken in a few moments of terror. Rene and his seven other friends were in Mountain to spend a few relaxing days skiing.
On Saturday afternoon, while everyone was engaged in an off-piste course, an avalanche, probably caused by them, broke off the mountain and swept up full.
All eight went under the snow. Five managed to survive while for three of them, including Hofer, there was nothing to be done but to report his death.
Rene Hofer, despite his young age, was already raising his name in the world of motorcycling. He first got on two wheels of his motocross when he was little. In 2016 he had won his first important titles: the European and the world championship in the 85cc class and the Adac MX Junior Cup. MX2 class, finishing the season in 26th place overall.
This seemed to be the year he would finally be consecrated as one of the strongest, but infamous fate put an end to it all in seconds.
