The attacker Marco Manfrinati defends himself: “he got in the way: he wasn’t my goal”.
Marco Manfrinati, a 40-year-old former lawyer, attacked his ex-wife on Monday 6 May. The latter was injured by her attacker, but her father, Fabio Limido, a 71-year-old elderly gentleman, as well as Manfrinati’s former father-in-law, intervened to defend her daughter and lost his life following the scuffle. Today, May 8, the man, accused of aggravated premeditated murder and premeditated murder, was interrogated in order to continue with the investigations inside the Miogni prison in Varese where he is detained.
The attacker showed up at his ex-wife’s workplace on Monday morning Ciro Menotti, with the intention of attacking the woman, from whom he was estranged and so it happened. The man enters, stabs his ex-wife in the face and heads towards the exit to turn himself in at the police station. He gets into the car, but his father-in-law, after seeing what he did to his daughter, took a golf club, followed him and smashed the windows of his car and the man himself.
So much so that the attacker suffered multiple wounds to his hands, caused by the vehemence with which his father-in-law beat him. No longer able to drive, he gets out of the car and walks away, but the elderly gentleman continues to follow him. So, Marco, turns around and stabs also Fabio, mortally wounding him. Unfortunately for Fabio there was nothing that could be done, when help arrived he had already disappeared; the wounds were fatal. Marco reports that he did not set out with the intention of hitting his father-in-law, but that he was unable to avoid it due to the latter’s interference.
The whole story was reported by Fabrizio Busignani, lawyer of Marco Manfrinati. The woman victim of the attack is hospitalized at the Varese hospital, but her prognosis is still reserved.
