Flintsbach am Inn – Three climbers fell and died while hiking together in Upper Bavaria. A companion witnessed the accident in the foothills of the Alps and suffered a shock, the police reported on Sunday.
The group was therefore on Saturday in the Hohe Asten area near Flintsbach am Inn and wanted to descend over the Maiwand into the valley. A couple from the Regensburg district aged 35 and 44 and a 35-year-old from the Straubing area fell almost in the same place.
The fourth companion made an emergency call after the accident. According to the information, the mountain rescue service could only determine the death of the three victims. The exact cause of the accident has yet to be clarified, it said. dpa
