How to get the certificate
You can access this procedure through the electronic headquarters of the Social Security, you can obtain or consult this certificate online that collects the information regarding the existence or not of debts contracted with the Social Security. According to the Social Security magazine, it has a validity period of six months, in general terms. Depending on the specific case, if you participate in a contest or want to take advantage of a bonus or advantage in social contributions, you may be asked for an updated one.
1. Access the Social Security website and select the ‘Electronic Headquarters’ section.
2. Select the ‘Companies’ section in the upper horizontal menu.
3. Select the ‘Reports and Certificates’ option from the dropdown menu.
4. Choose the option ‘Certificate of being up to date with Social Security obligations’.
5. Obtain a reference number to be able to check the status of your request.

To which people is it addressed?
Only those persons obliged to pay contributions or other payments to this body can incur debts with Social Security.
– Those legal entities that have been assigned a contribution account code number (CCC), regardless of the Regime to which they are attached (with digital certificate), may be up to date with their payments.
– Individuals who have been assigned a Social Security affiliation number (NAF), whatever the Regime to which they are affiliated (With a digital certificate or permanent Cl@ve).
If you have not worked as a salaried employee or have not worked, you cannot have debts with Social Security. If you are in this case and you must prove that you do not have these debts, there is the so-called Contribution Situation Report, a similar format that can be requested by any natural person with a Social Security affiliation number.
