Find out what the requirements are to access this help
The Government was working on a new mechanism to replace the ERTE at the end of 2021. The objective was to promote aid that would serve to improve the training of the affected workers and that would also be useful for making the labor market more flexible. Due to the extraordinary situation of the ERTE, this mechanism has an expiration date. The current extension lasts until February 28 and there is no news that it will be extended for more months.
On March 31, the collection of the benefits of the new RED will come into force, it is a mechanism of flexibility and stabilization of employment that, once activated by the Council of Ministers, allows companies to request measures to reduce day and suspension of employment contracts, according to the SEPE. In this way, it is possible that those who need an ERTE from this date will have to request a RED. There are a number of requirements to collect this new benefit
Requirements to collect the new benefit
To access this benefit, companies must be suffering from a difficult economic situation. The first thing is that the Council of Ministers approve the RED mechanism. Afterwards, the competent labor authority will be in charge of approving the company. Workers who are members of an associated work cooperative may also apply for this benefit.
Duration of aid and amount
Companies will also wonder if your company takes advantage of a RED is the amount of time you can enjoy the benefit. According to the SEPE, the aid will stop being received when the company is no longer affected by the RED. As with the ERTE, the benefit does not take time to stop, so you can access the unemployment benefit that corresponds to you when you need it.
As for the amount, one of the most repeated questions is if your company is going through this situation, it is the amount to be received. The rule establishes that it will be the average computation of the bases of the last 180 days quoted. The amount will be 70% of that regulatory base. In any case, the aid cannot exceed 1,271 euros per month.
If the RED is for a reduction in working hours, the amount is calculated taking into account the average number of hours worked in the last 180 days quoted, and using the IPREM indicator (Public Indicator of Income for Multiple Effects) as a base.
