Some 250 people have concentrated this Thursday in front of the portal of a home in Burlada, a municipality located in the region of Pamplona, to try to avoid the eviction of a woman, victim of gender violence and with five children, three of them minors. Finally, given the number of people who have gathered there, the judicial delegation has decided to paralyze the launch and delay the execution of eviction.
It has been Iruña’s socialist housing union who has convened the concentration to stop the eviction of this family. As they explain, it is a woman victim of gender violence and living in a house owned by a relative of her ex -husband and aggressor. They add that the suspension of evictions for vulnerable families has not been applied for not being recognized “legally as a tenant.”
The woman also has five children in charge, of which three are minors, and does not have a housing alternative. “From the City of Burlada, he was offered only the possibility of spending a few days in a hotel,” they denounce from the union.
Finally, the neighborhood concentration, to which about 250 people have joined, has managed to paralyze the launch. “We are waiting for new dates, but we will put any effort so that that day does not arrive,” they emphasize from the union to demand “to get a quality home” to the family.
