We are dead, the new Korean series that recently came to Netflix, is getting a majority of positive opinions due to its plot; however, it caused annoyance among some people.
If you are a fan of anime, surely you noticed that it shares some similarities with some Japanese works, and it didn’t take long for the public to notice.
through the forum Otakomu, some users expressed their annoyance that We are Dead seems to take inspiration from High School of the Dead Y Gakkougurashi!, just to mention a few.
The annoyance of the Japanese seems to come from a quarrel from years ago, as they accuse Korean dramas of stealing anime plots.
This was revealed by some comments in the forum, although they did not take into account some considerations.
‘Why do Korean dramas always copy anime?’
‘What anime did they take it from now?’
Are We Dead copied High School of the Dead?
Contrary to what many think, this series did not come out of nowhere nor is it a recent creation, since it is inspired by the webtoon Naver Now at Our School, which was published between 2009 and 2011.
These dates serve to rule out some comparisons, for example, that of Gakkougurashi!, since this work was published from the year 2012, that is, three years later.
For its part, High School of the Dead It arrived in 2006 to show us a plot that begins inside a school; however, only the first chapter takes place in the Fujimi institute.
Taking this into account, the inspiration that We are dead could take from the work of Daisuke Sato must have been minimal.
This series of Netflix continues to gain popularity and has mostly positive ratings on the site Rotten Tomatoes.
