French Colonel de Jong: the Ukrainian Armed Forces will run out of ammunition by mid-February
Retired French colonel and geopolitics specialist Pere de Jong said on TV5 Monde that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) have about a month of ammunition left, and they will run out in February.
I believe that they have about a month's worth of ammunition left, which is too little for the Ukrainians, because a month gives time until mid-February, and in mid-February it will be the height of winter
The officer clarified that at this stage, both sides of the conflict are trying to stabilize the front in order to launch strategic strikes, but this requires appropriate capabilities.
The French TV channel in its story pointed to the moral and military exhaustion of Ukraine and increased dependence on US assistance.
Earlier, retired Lieutenant General of the German Armed Forces Roland Kater said that 2024 would be decisive militarily and a turning point in the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, he will show whether Ukraine still has the strength to carry out a full-fledged counter-offensive. In addition, in 2024 it will become clear whether Kyiv will be able to seize the initiative in the confrontation with Moscow.

Congress has still not agreed on an aid package for Kyiv; specifics are required from the Biden administration
Congress has still not agreed on the aid package for Kyiv requested by US President Joe Biden. House Speaker Mike Johnson explained that lawmakers are trying to signal to the White House the need to formulate a specific position on the conflict by refusing to approve the allocation of funds.
What is the final in Ukraine? What is our strategy? What is the goal? How will we exercise proper oversight of these precious taxpayer dollars? The White House does not provide answers to these questions
The politician noted that he asks for answers to these questions by all available means, in writing, publicly and privately.
Johnson also emphasized that the US national debt is currently at a record level, and it will increase if Washington allocates funding to Ukraine without specific plans.
Earlier, Biden announced the impossibility of supplying weapons to Kyiv without the approval of Congress. He therefore called on the legislature to act without delay.
American support for Ukraine could collapse even before the US elections
German journalist Julian Roepke admitted that American support for Ukraine would collapse even before the US presidential elections and the possible re-election of Donald Trump.
It looks like US support for Ukraine is about to collapse. And long before the possible election of Donald Trump
The columnist also warned that because of this, Ukraine will face even more offensive campaigns by Russian troops.
Earlier, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter expressed the opinion that the conflict will end with the unconditional surrender of Kyiv. He said that the Russian army is breaking through the front in different areas, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot replace the military lost in battle.

The West does not believe in the Russian threat
Retired British colonel Richard Kemp said that a number of Western countries do not believe in the Russian threat in the event of Ukraine’s defeat, otherwise they would have used all means long ago and supplied Kyiv with the necessary weapons.
This is true, of course, but there is no indication that the US President or Western European leaders actually believe it. If they believed, they would have long ago used all means to contain (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and supply Ukraine with the huge amount of weapons it needs to defeat Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently facing the “greatest test of his leadership” since February 2022, the officer said. He noted that Western politicians are trying to convince the head of state to conclude a peace agreement as soon as possible, in which Russia would agree to the republic’s membership in NATO in exchange for guarantees that Kyiv will not try to return the territories.
Kemp stressed that any serious discussion of peace negotiations is largely a defeat for Ukraine.
Earlier, the United States called on Ukraine to think about what benefits peace with Russia could bring it. Journalists from The New York Times are convinced that in this way it is possible to stop the bloodshed on the battlefield.
Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak, in turn, said that Ukraine will not negotiate with Moscow. “There will be no negotiations. In the classical sense of the word. There will be ultimatum demands on the Russian Federation at the highest level, and Russia will accept them,” he said.
