The process for regularize chocolate cars in Sonora is in its final stage, with More than 20 thousand cars pending legalization, therefore, Martín Manzo, representative of the State Car Front, asked to extend or modify the decree.
The leader of the automotive industry in Sonora highlighted the Urgency to extend or modify the decreeso that a greater number of chocolate cars can be regularized.
According to Manzo, many owners have already made the corresponding payment, but their vehicles have been rejected during the verification carried out by the Public Vehicle Registry (Repuve), due to inconsistencies in the title of ownership.
“There are some vehicles that have been rejected and people want to legalize them and many of them have already made the payment (…) out of pocket, in Sonora there are 20 thousand vehicles,” he told Radio Sonora.
He The main requirement to access regularization is to present the original title of the chocolate car, proving that the vehicle entered the country before the mentioned date. However, some vehicles have been rejected due to problems with the documentation or errors at the time of the physical inspection.
These chocolate cars entered the country before October 19, 2021, the deadline established by the current decree that allows their legalization. However, the deadline is about to expire, and thousands of owners could be left out of the process.
The proposed adjustment to the decree aims to solve these obstacles and prevent owners from losing the opportunity to legalize their cars. In the meantime, the authorities reiterate the importance of interested parties starting or completing the process before the deadline expires.
