The Zan Bill arrives in the Senate: today the decisive vote for the fate of the law against homotransphobia
Today, Wednesday 27 October 2021, the Zan Bill arrives in the Senate with the vote, scheduled immediately after the general discussion, which could prove decisive for the survival of the bill against homotransphobia.
Until the end, the parties sought mediation to avoid going to the Senate count, but all attempts to find an agreement have failed.
The center-right asked to postpone everything for a week: a request also supported by Italia Viva, whose leader Matteo Renzi in the meantime could desert the vote in the classroom due to a commitment in Saudi Arabia by bin Salman, but rejected by Pd, M5S and Leu.
The Giallorossi, for their part, have asked the center-right to withdraw the so-called “trap”, or the secret ballot vote on the non-passage of the articles of the law, which, if passed, would sanction the definitive death of the bill.
“The ‘trap’ remains, of course it remains, and then there will be the request for a secret vote” declared the leader of the League in the Senate, Massimiliano Romeo, who added: “The League had given willingness to seek mediation on the text of the measure, but they told us no ”.
Request, as mentioned, rejected by the Giallorossi, who decided to go to the Senate count. “Everyone will take their responsibilities so we will see who wanted to bury the provision” said the parent company dem Simona Malpezzi in the evening.
