CD Projekt RED has officially announced the arrival of a new game in the famous series The Witcher. This time, the developers will use the graphics engine to create this new title Unreal Engine 5unlike what happened before, when the titles were developed with the engine designed by the Polish software house.
This wonderful and highly anticipated news came, as mentioned, directly from the software house which, with a press release, made it known that it had started a strategic partnership with Epic Games precisely for the creation of a new title which, in reality, will not be the only one. In fact, lat the birth of a real new saga linked to the universe of the most beloved witcher.
As mentioned, thanks to this strategic partnership between the two software houses, the new game in the The Witcher series will be developed in Unreal Engine 5. This will allow developers to work with the latest technologies and to return the most performing products to fans from the point of view. graphic view.
In the press release, CD Projekt RED has released a teaser image and that is, at the moment, the only official information we have about this first title of the new series. No further information has been provided regarding release date or timing.
What we do know for sure is that it will be a new saga. No remake, no reboot, a new narrative arc dedicated to the figure of Geralt of Rivia will start. And we honestly can’t wait to get our hands and eyes on these new products.
There was no lack of declarations to seal the agreement with Epic Games. Here are the words of Paweł ZawodnyCTO of CD Projekt RED:
One of the central aspects of our internal “RED 2.0” transformation is a greater focus on technology, and our cooperation with Epic Games is based on this principle. From the beginning, we didn’t consider the more traditional option of the license agreement; both we and Epic see it as a satisfying and lasting partnership. For CD PROJEKT RED, it is vital to establish the technical direction of our next video game from the early stages: in the past, we have spent a lot of energy evolving and adapting the REDengine to each sequel. This cooperation is exciting, because it increases efficiency and will make development planning more conducive, as well as providing us with access to cutting-edge technological tools. I can’t wait to see the games we’re going to create using Unreal Engine 5.
A comment regarding the partnership also arrived from the other side in question. He talked about it Tim Sweeneyfounder and CEO of Epic Games:
Epic built Unreal Engine 5 for development teams to create open, dynamic worlds in a level of detail never seen before. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with CD PROJEKT RED to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling and gameplay together, and this will benefit the entire developer community for years to come.
