The Spanish film The Snow Society, by Juan Antonio Bayona, It is the most nominated production, with seven nominations, in the eleventh edition of the Platino Awards that recognize the best of Ibero-American cinema. They follow with six Close the eyes, directed by Víctor Erice, and the Chilean Count by Pablo Larraín. While the television categories are dominated by Argentine series Iosi, the repentant spy and Palermo Division, both with four nominations. The awards will be presented on April 20 in the Riviera Maya, in Mexico.
In addition to the films by Bayona and Erice, the category of best Ibero-American fiction film is completed by the Argentine The criminals, by Rodrigo Moreno, and Totem, by the Mexican Lila Avilés. Despite being one of the films with the most nominations, Count It has not managed to enter the most important section but is up for the award for best direction, best male performance by Jaime Vadell, best supporting female performance (Antonia Zegers), best script, best art direction and best sound direction.
The Platinum Awards are promoted by Egeda (Audiovisual Producers Rights Management Entity) with FIPCA (Ibero-American Federation of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Production) which brings together the industries of the 23 Ibero-American countries. This year's Platinum Honor will go to actress Cecilia Roth.
