The investment of 3.4 million will make it possible to renew part of this equipment in hospitals
The Murcian Health Service (SMS) is going to acquire 740 new beds to renew this equipment in hospitals in the Region, with an investment of 3.4 million euros. This contract is likely to be financed within the framework of the React-EU axis of the Feder Operational Program for the Region of Murcia 2014-2020, as part of the Union’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is a total of 740 beds, of which 509 are on the floor with standard measures, 17 on the floor with special measures, 40 in the adult ICU, 57 for seriously ill patients, 98 hydraulic and 19 for people with morbid obesity.
Currently, the Region has around 4,000 beds in the public system. The renewal of this equipment will allow “improving patient safety”, since the new beds “will be more suited to their clinical characteristics in order to ensure their integrity at all times and adequate postural treatment for each circumstance”, explains the Ministry of health.
Thus, these are beds with railings to prevent entrapment, and also prevent and warn of possible falls. In addition, the beds will allow rapid positioning of the patient for correct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Likewise, they will facilitate respiratory physiotherapy treatment in critical patients and the monitoring of therapeutic postures of the patient. They are also characterized by providing greater comfort.
