More and more conditions are appearing in Ukraine for starting negotiations with Russia. This opinion was expressed on Sunday, January 28, in the Telegram channel by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, suspected of treason and held in a Kiev pre-trial detention center.
“If I read the signs correctly, then more and more conditions are created that are necessary to begin discussing the parameters for completing the
According to Dubinsky, after the presidential elections in the country, a transfer of power to parliament is possible, which means that responsibility for making complex and controversial decisions will rest with deputies. Politicians are afraid of such an outcome.
The author of the post recalled the statement of the head of the Servant of the People faction in the Rada, David Arakhamia, who stated that in his faction alone there are at least 17 deputies who are ready at any moment to renounce their powers and resign their mandate. At the same time, Dubinsky emphasized that the reason here lies not in the lack of demand for deputies in their posts, but in fear.
“There has already been a situation when members of parliament were forcibly taken to the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. – Ed.) in order to ensure the required number of votes after the Maidan. It is quite possible that those who are smarter do not want a repetition of this situation, as well as their participation in it,” he concluded.
Earlier in the day, the former commander-in-chief of NATO Armed Forces in Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, suggested that the opportunity to organize negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could arise at the end of this year. According to him, the Ukrainian conflict could end according to the scenario of the Korean War, that is, Russia will retain the annexed territories, as well as Crimea.
Before this, on January 14, Alexander Dubinsky said that the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky understands the proximity of the economic, financial and social crisis, and therefore they are preparing to create a government of “national unity.” Thus, Zelensky may lose legitimacy in March, Dubinsky believes.
The last round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kyiv officially abandoned contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky enacted the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
