The Ministry of Health has failed to carry out its mental health plan. After the criticisms received by psychiatrists and psychologists, who have shaved the department of Mónica García that does not collect their main claims and that the final document has not been sent to them, to the point that they claimed the minister to eliminate their names from the document, The Health Councilors of the PP rejected their approval at the meeting held this Friday of the Plenary of the Interterritorial Health Council.
As ABC has learned, the autonomous communities governed by the PP have referred to the fact that the plan contains technical errors and does not have the support of psychiatry and psychology professionals. They have emphasized the letters that the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health or psychiatrist Celso Arango have sent to the Ministry requesting that their names from the document be eliminated by having learned of the last text by the press and not by health. They also criticize that the strategy gives more weight to the lines of action that had less votes, while their claims are not collected.
Therefore, popular counselors have notified the minister that they cannot vote a plan that they consider precipitated and that it also does not have the support of scientific and professional societies. As this newspaper has known, the Basque Country has also spoken against the Plan, while Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha and Asturias, governed by the PSOE, have supported the strategy presented by the Ministry.
