The PP points out that it has to continue working ahead of the elections and the PSOE assures that “there is a cool party” to play in the capital
The Sigma Dos survey for LA VERDAD marked the political agenda in the Region yesterday. The main parties analyzed the results with caution, as there is still a long way to go before the elections. Neither the PP, which is given as the winner in Murcia and Cartagena, throws the bells on the fly nor does the PSOE throw in the towel.
The former mayor of Murcia and predictable PP candidate in the capital, José Ballesta, indicates that the Sigma Dos survey “confirms a trend that has been maintained for several months.” However, he affirms that the PP receives the results “with prudence, moderation and a lot of temperance.” Because the message that the survey transmits “is that we have to continue working.” He also acknowledges that both the survey and “daily affection”, which he claims to receive from Murcia, put him “in the face of a responsibility” that requires “an answer” and forces him “to make decisions.” That is, to remove the leaves of the daisy and say if he is going to be a candidate.

For his part, the mayor of Murcia and candidate for the PSOE, José Antonio Serrano, says that the surveys “are photographs of specific moments.” He remembers that in 2019 a poll gave the PSOE 6 councilors in the City Council and ended up getting 9. “There is a cool game to play and I think we are going to win the elections,” Serrano said.
“The most important thing is that we would win the elections again and three years ago it was not like that. In addition, there is a growth trend for the PP and another for the second party to drop. It is possible to win votes in a very high part of the undecided », said the popular mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, who does not want to speculate on the possibilities of agreements. After the publication of the survey, José López, from MC, said good morning to his followers on social networks with a brief: “There is less left, Cartagena.” Another outstanding reaction was that of Manuel Torres, general secretary of the Cartagena PSOE, which would continue to be the third political force with six councillors. “We are cautious. But, after having spent the entire legislature without a municipal group in Cartagena, six councilors would be a good starting point to continue growing.
Faith of errors
On the other hand, yesterday’s newspaper slipped an error in the allocation of councilors to the PSOE. The percentage of votes was correct, but it corresponded to a range of 9-10 councilors, not 10-11. The error was corrected in laverdad.es.
