The special Easter traffic operation has been settled without any deaths on the roads of the Region. In this way, Murcia is one of the eight communities in Spain in which no death has been recorded due to a traffic accident in one of the most complicated devices of the year. The national balance, for its part, has resulted in a total of 29 people killed on Spanish roads, a figure that represents two more deaths than in 2019, but fewer fatalities than those predicted by Big Data for this period (36).
As announced yesterday by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), in the ten days of the special traffic operation (from April 8 to Monday 18 of the same month), 15.8 million long-distance trips were registered, 6% more than those of 2019 (14.9 million). This is the highest number of displacements in a special Easter operation since records are available, 2008.
