Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, confirmed that Oleksiy Arestovich is neither an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Andrey Yermak, nor any of his deputies. On Saturday, August 20, according to the publication “Strana”.
“The adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, Mikhail Podolyak, dotted the “i” on the question of what he does on Bankova (a street in the Pechersky district of Kyiv, where the administration and the official residence of the President of Ukraine are located. – Ed.) Aleksey Arestovich. Today, we recall, a document appeared, according to which he is not listed as an adviser to anyone in the President’s Office. Podolyak confirmed this. But he clarified that Arestovich still officially works on Bankovaya, ”the publication’s Telegran channel says.
The report also notes that Arestovich is neither an adviser to the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, nor an adviser to any of his deputies.
“However, he talks so much that we made him an advisor to the entire office together. This is exactly what his position sounds like (literally): “adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine.” How he is officially considered according to the staffing table, ”Podolyak is quoted as saying.
Earlier in the day, Ukrainian media reported that Arestovich was not among the 46 officials belonging to the office of the Ukrainian leader.
In early December 2020, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, appointed Arestovich as his non-staff adviser on strategic communications in the field of national security and defense.
However, two years later, in January 2022, Arestovich accused the authorities of bureaucracy and announced that he was resigning from all government posts he held. In particular, he accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of violating basic election promises and of failing to reform the country and create a leap forward for its subsequent development. According to him, the Ukrainian leader no longer communicates with the people, but only delivers “written speeches without emotion.”
Officially, the dismissal of Arestovich was not reported.
