The studio wrapped up its most recent blog dedicated to Dragon Age with a small update on the upcoming Mass Effect.
BioWare gave quite a few news about the next Dragon Age game in a recent post inside the blog company, but the studio didn’t completely ignore those waiting for news of the next Mass Effect. Unfortunately, everything indicates that the wait will be quite long to see more of this anticipated title, as BioWare confirmed that the team in charge is still formulating ideas for the project.
Our number one priority needs to be quality.Gary McKay“Next-gen AAA games take a long time to make,” he shared. Gary McKay, leader of BioWare. “We know our fans would like to have it sooner, but our number one priority needs to be quality, and that just takes time to do right.”
A piece of news that does not raise much spirits, but at the same time agrees with what BioWare stipulated a while ago, since the study mentioned that it wants to recover its reputation and gain the trust of the community again, being “quality games” one of the main missions to achieve this goal.
Until now, we know very little about the next Mass Effect, because apart from the theories that are floating around the internet, we only have the announcement trailer and an image revealed by BioWare. One thing we do know, however, is that this installment will ditch the Frostbite engine —used in ME: Andromeda— in favor of Unreal Engine.
