The Ministry of Health argued over the need to accelerate the start of vaccination of minors against COVID-19. Writes about it URA.RU citing a source close to the department.
It is clarified that the division of opinions of experts occurred against the backdrop of the ban of the Ministry of Health to diagnose coronavirus in children with an atypical type of acute respiratory viral infection, according to symptoms similar to COVID-19. Thus, some doctors insist that the authorities begin to vaccinate adolescents over 12 years old from the beginning of 2022, since “in some regions there are overcrowded hospitals where children are already in the corridors.”
They are opposed by other experts, who claim that the children’s coronavirus vaccine has not been fully researched. In this regard, it is too early to talk about the launch of the vaccination campaign, experts said.
“It is not clear who will win this dispute. But the government is already preparing a report on childhood vaccination against coronavirus to President Vladimir Putin. Apparently, the decision on the start of vaccination will be based on the conclusions of this document, ”said the interlocutor of the portal.
The source of the publication added that the government has not yet reached a consensus on the timing of the launch of vaccination among minors. “So far, January 1 of next year sounds like the official start of the vaccination campaign. But this date can be postponed, ”he explained.
Earlier it was reported that more than half (69 percent) of Russian parents were not ready to vaccinate their child against coronavirus. According to the SuperJob study, only eight percent of those surveyed clearly plan to vaccinate their children. Another 23 percent are only inclined to such a decision.
