Citizens can find out the amount that would correspond to them through some questions
Among the measures aimed at people at risk of poverty and social exclusion approved by the Government last year is the Minimum Vital Income, which this 2023 increases its contribution. It is a benefit for people who live alone or are integrated into a coexistence unit and lack basic financial resources to cover their basic needs. Its objective is to guarantee a minimum level of income to those who are in a situation of economic vulnerability, as well as a real improvement in opportunities for social and labor inclusion of the beneficiaries.
The requirements to obtain it include having residence in Spain and proving to be in a situation of economic vulnerability, which affects the individual applicant or the coexistence unit. This will be fulfilled when the average monthly income is at least 10 euros less than the monthly amount guaranteed by the corresponding Minimum Vital Income according to the modality and the number of members of the coexistence unit.
It seems something simple if you consult the values established by Social Security in the
table of income limits in the estate in relation to the cohabitation unit, but family situations are so varied that it is not always easy to make sure if you enter the eligible applicants to receive the subsidy. For this, a tool has been created that, with a few ‘clicks’, allows you to check if you meet the requirements to receive this benefit and to know the approximate amount that would correspond to you.
Its about
Minimum Vital Income simulator. It only works at an informative level, so to request the help you will have to access the services of the procedure. However, it is a good step to know if it corresponds to you. To use it, you will only have to answer a few questions, which will determine what your situation is and if you are within the spectrum of vulnerability. The questions are intended to find out your personal situation in areas of residence, family unit, income, assets, dependent minors, etc. Some of them are:
– Have you resided legally and uninterruptedly in Spain for more than a year?
– Do you live alone?
– Are you married or do you have a common-law partner?
– Are you over 30 years old?
– Are there minors in your family unit (children or dependent minors)?
– Have you lived independently in Spain for the last two years or do you come from a child protection care center?
– Are you a legal administrator of a mercantile company that has not ceased its activity?
– Is the net value of your goods or properties, not including your habitual residence, greater than €17,698.80?
– Do you have non-corporate assets worth more than 35,397.60 euros?
Once you finish all the questions on the form, the application returns an answer to your situation. According to the data provided, it will inform you if you meet the necessary conditions to be entitled to the IMV and the amount to which you could opt. They also remember that the simulator only has an informative value and that it is not binding nor is it equivalent to requesting aid, for which you would have to access the Social Security procedure.
