The Lebanese minister stated that the gas group in Al-Zahrani was also connected to the network, stressing that “less than an hour from now, these plants will reach their maximum capacity available on the network.”
Fayyad explained, “After three days have passed and the two plants stopped, their production capacity will be replaced by another from the Zouk and Jiyeh thermal laboratories after feeding them from fuel oil.”
He said that the material arrived on Saturday evening, after sending samples of it and examining it in the laboratories of the company (Bureau Veritas) in Dubai, in order to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, which will maintain the total production capacity of about 500 megawatts to maintain the stability and stability of the network.
He announced that “the approval of the Central Bank was obtained yesterday to obtain $100 million and sent to the Tender Department to conduct a solicitation of bids to import fuel, and this matter helps raise the hours of electricity supply by the end of this month.”
