The new director general of the Moscow Art Academic Theater (MKHAT) named after Gorky, Vladimir Kekhman, removed from the repertoire the play “The Wonderful Georgian”, in which the role was played by TV presenter and singer Olga Buzova. It is reported by TASS…
It is noted that before that, the show of “The Wonderful Georgian” with the participation of Buzova was suspended. Then this decision was explained by poor ticket sales and the epidemiological situation. At the same time, the leadership of the Moscow Art Theater assured that they would not remove the performance from the theater’s poster, but would only postpone it indefinitely.
Earlier, Vladimir Kekhman explained that financial problems became the reason for the cancellation of the Wonderful Georgian. Buzova, commenting on the cancellation of the play with her participation, wished the theater that ticket sales for all the Moscow Art Theater shows were the same as for the Wonderful Georgian, and attached a screenshot from which it follows that all tickets for the production were sold.
